Falkenberg Ives lawyers Jim Fieweger and Megan Zmick convinced the Chicago Police Board to discharge a police officer who injured an innocent bystander in an off-duty shooting.  According to the Chicago Tribune, this marked the first time since the Independent Police Review Authority's inception in 2007 that a case investigated by IPRA resulted in firing an officer as the result of a shooting.

On February 1, 2017, partner Tom Falkenberg will give a presentation to the DuPage County Estate Planning Council titled "Liability Issues Facing Estate Planners."  The presentation will be held at Butterfield Country Club and Mr. Falkenberg will discuss risk management issues available for estate planning professionals, as well as liability risks.  The topics covered will include the applicable statute of limitations periods, to whom professionals owe a duty, and applicable privileges.  For more information on the presentation, contact Tom Falkenberg at This email address is being protected from spambots.
