Emily Wessman is of counsel to Falkenberg Ives and part of the firm’s commercial litigation, healthcare litigation and professional liability practices.  She focuses her practice on healthcare litigation, counseling healthcare clients on compliance issues, and defending lawyers and accountants in professional liability matters.

 

Prior to joining Falkenberg Ives, Ms. Wessman worked in private practice and as a Senior Counsel in the City of Chicago’s Department of Law where she focused on local tax, environmental, and consumer fraud litigation.  While with the City of Chicago, Ms. Wessman successfully conducted numerous bench trials before Administrative Law Judges.

Ms. Wessman has experience in all aspects of litigation, including trials, motion practice, depositions, and settlement. Ms. Wessman enjoys counseling clients in a straightforward and approachable manner to efficiently resolve their complex legal issues.

Education/Bar Admissions

Ms. Wessman received a B.A. in Political Science and American History in 1998 from Northwestern University. She received her J.D. in 2001 from Emory University School of Law, where she was a member of the Moot Court Society.

Ms. Wessman was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2001. She is also admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
